I finished my Bixbite Shawl this past August. The design is by Veera Välimäki. The pink and grey skeins are from Sugarplum Circus, the navy blue is from Gynx Yarns. It is super cosy and soft and I loved knitting it. The thick blocks of striping were done with short rows; it was my favourite part of knitting this shawl.
FOs: Since I haven’t posted in a year, I’m going to be doing some catch up in this section. I finished Xanthe forever ago and Castiel is my most recent FO.
Needles: 3.5 mm and 3.75 mm Dyak Darn Pretty 3.5” interchangeables
Mods: I would have like to make it larger, but I ran out of yarn. Ideally it would have had 2 or 3 more pattern repeats, but lace is stretchy so I can wear it if my hair is down.
I have recently being learning how to spin. This is my third spin and my first on a supported spindle.
Planning:
3 in 1 Experiment
I’m working on a full size sweater swatch. The colours are a little crazy, especially for a garment. It’s not just a gauge swatch that’s required, but a colour swatch too. Might as well begin the sweater fully prepared to have to frog it all. The pattern is 3 in 1 by Atelier Alfa, the blue yarns are Madelinetosh Merino Light and the speckled colours are Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles.
